Travel to and within Basel

 

Basel is a compact city. The Messe Schweiz is located in the middle of town and is within easy walking distance of many hotels and within no more than 20 minutes’ travel time by public transportation of those outside the downtown area. The dense local and regional public transportation networks take you anywhere you want to go, quickly and on schedule, even to the bordering areas of Germany and France.

 

Public transport
From the SBB/SNCF railway station, take tram no. 1 or no. 2 directly to the Exhibition Square (Messeplatz). From the Badischer Bahnhof, take tram no. 1, no. 2 or no. 6.

Car travel
Basel is located at the junction of the European north-south and east-west freeway axes. Travel by car is convenient and parking space is available at many hotels.

Travel from the Euroairport
Please use Bus 50 in front of the arrival hall to the Swiss railway station. Bus leaves every 10 minutes.

 

Travel within Basel
The Congress Center Basel (Tram stop Exhibition Square) is easily accessible from all three railway stations:

 

• From the Swiss railway station (SBB) take tram No. 2 in the direction of Riehen.
• From the German (DB) and the French railway station (SNCF) take tram No. 2 in the direction of Binningen
• From Basel downtown take trams No. 6 (direction Riehen Grenze) or 14
  (direction Dreirosenbrücke).
