Dear Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to welcome you to the 11th Annual MipTec Conference, the leading European event for Drug Discovery. Eleven years of bringing scientists together to share experiences in drug discovery is a significant achievement. Like the Program Committee, attendees of MipTec are an international group representing pharmaceutical/biotech companies, universities and technology suppliers. It is this diversity that keeps MipTec at the leading edge of drug discovery. This year’s scientific program continues to bring experts and innovators together, with distinguished keynote speakers and a program that is unmatched anywhere.
For more than a decade, the support of the scientific and vendor community has kept MipTec an important conference that can be relied on year after year. Now it’s our turn to return your support by revitalizing the conference format. This year the conference format has been extended to include events to enable greater face-to-face interactions and to open the meeting to the widest audience possible. There will be no registration fee for 2008, for those pre-registering for the meeting online. This will make the MipTec scientific program and exhibition available to a broader audience. In particular, we would like to give junior lab staff and students a chance to attend and to foster closer links between academia and industry.
We hope that this will make it easier for you to attend and keep MipTec a vibrant and important international conference in the heart of Europe. We look forward to seeing you on October 14-16, 2008 in Basel, Switzerland.
